Schedule of Fees
Urgent Appointments may be available for an additional fee. Fees are based on assessments occurring in Newcastle.
Legal Aid requests will be considered.
Standard fee includes:
- Interviews with two parties and two children
- Four hours subpoena reading
- Family Report
Additional fees:
$550 for each additional adult or child
$200 per hour after four hours of subpoena reading (maximum of eight hours)
Standard fee includes:
- Interviews with two parties (by video) and two children (in person)
- Preparation of Child Impact Assessment
Additional fees:
$550 for each additional adult or child.
Terms of engagement
Family Reports
All material, including subpoenaed material must be provided electronically no later than fourteen days prior to the interview date.
No material will be reviewed after the interview date.
Payment is required in full 21 days prior to the scheduled interview date.
If the Report is cancelled less than 14 days prior to the interview date, no refund will be provided.
Cross-Examination
Evidence by video
An upfront payment for two hours of cross-examination ($660) is payable no less than 48 hours prior to the date the Expert is required. Any additional time will be invoiced after the cross-examination at $330 per hour, or part thereof. The charged time includes waiting time and commences from when the Expert is asked to be on standby.
If additional material is to be read prior to the cross-examination this will be charged at the same rate for cross-examination and is payable prior to the cross-examination.
If the booking is cancelled with less than 48 hours notice, no refund will be provided for any reason.
Evidence in person
If the Expert is required to attend the Newcastle Registry to give evidence in person there is an upfront fee of $1500. Additional fees will be charged for travel to Registries other than Newcastle.
The upfront payment is payable four weeks prior to the date the Expert is required.
If additional material is to be read prior to the cross-examination this will be charged at the same rate for cross-examination and is payable prior to the cross-examination.
If the booking is cancelled within seven days, no refund will be provided for any reason.
